Using The Power of Your Community To Sell More

Do your friends ever volunteer to help you with your business, but they just don’t know how?  Sometimes, it’s difficult to accept any offers when you’re used to doing everything on you own, but maybe you should!
Here are a few ways your friends and community can help you sell more without inconveniencing them much at all

Let Them Use Your Products:  Do you make something?  Maybe you create a product that can be easily worn or displayed?  Real life models are the best advertisements for your brand.  By asking your friends to wear or display your goods and providing them with some of your business cards or promotional materials that they keep on hand, then they will be prepared to pass along your name and business card when they get complimented on your products.

Tell Them About Your Business: Often, entrepreneurs get so wrapped up in worrying about their business and finding new supporters that they forget to inform the supporters they already have.  If you let your friends, social acquaintances, former co-workers, and anyone else you have already built a reputation know what you’re working on, they will be proud to tell their friends and their networks about it.  And, with social media today it only takes seconds for your friends to post a link to your website on their Facebook or Twitter pages which can help build your reputation and credibility while also spreading the word of your business to new communities.

Organize An Event With Them: This doesn’t mean creating a huge exhibition, just reach out to your friends and fellow entrepreneurs and host a small event in your home, community center, school or elsewhere.  Together, you will be able to attract more customers and by partnering with complementary products and services, the customers will be happy (one stop shopping) and everyone who participated will be satisfied because the traffic generated is more than if you had the event by yourself.

Join Them In A Group: Getting involved and joining a small business group will help you grow and expand your business. Connect with a fellow small business owner within your community to share ideas, brainstorm, and hold one another accountable for taking steps to achieve your goals!  Plus, you’ll have a ton of fun!
